READER PRODUCT REVIEW: Slix Kevlar Lined Riding Jeans

By Leah Petersen, New York City, New York

7/20/2010: Stunt rider Leah Petersen needs the best protection possible when doing wheelies and other stunts on her Kawasaki Ninja 636. She recently purchased Slix jeans, a feminine leather-like jean, that is actually denim, lined with Kevlar and another abrasion resistant material. Being safe and wearing protective gear is a requirement for Leah in her work of stunt riding. Check out her video review.

READER PRODUCT REVIEW: ICON Bombshell Boots

By Heather McCoy, Scottsdale, Arizona

6/15/2010: The average female in America is about 5 feet 4 inches; the average male, about 5 feet 10 inches. The average sportbike rider is (overwhelmingly) male. You can see where I’m going with this. If you’re an average American female, go out and find a stock sportbike you can reach the ground on… go ahead... I dare ya.

READER PRODUCT REVIEW: Firstgear TPG Monarch Jacket

By Peggy Zaring, LaCrosse, Washington

6/15/2010: Two years ago I bought the new Firstgear TPG Monarch jacket. Here are some things that real women riders need to know about the jacket. I am not a fair weather rider. I ride a BMW K 1200 GT and ride between 10,000 to 15,000 miles a year (wish I could ride more). I’m not a big women, but I am no skinny minny size 2 model either.

Reader Product Review: Hugger Gloves

By Denise L. Glassman, Arlington Heights, Illinois

1/9/2010: It isn't hard to find a pair of gloves to keep your hands warm for winter riding. I must have five pairs of them. But it is hard to find a pair that fits a woman's hand properly and isn't so bulky that you feel like you're wearing boxing gloves. Like many women, I have small hands, and most gloves are cut for a man's hand. Women have to buy size small or x-small if they're available.

READER REVIEW: 2009 Harley-Davidson V-Rod

Brenda Stahler, Lehighton, Pennsylvania

Brenda's height 5 feet 4 1/2 inches
11/22/2009: I just traded my 2002 Harley-Davidson Sportster Hugger for a 2009 Harley-Davidson V-Rod and wish I would have done it sooner. I'm only 5 foot 4 1/2 inches and couldn't find anything that fit me. There were other Harley's that were lower, however they were so wide I couldn't get my legs around them and still reach the ground.

Reader Product Review: Motolights

By Kris Kessell, Sacramento, California

11/11/2009: I had the great fortune of riding my 2003 Harley Davidson 100th anniversary Softail to the AMA Women's Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2006. It was an amazing three-week roundtrip journey from Sacramento, down to Vegas, up to the Grand Canyon back down through New Mexico, across Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Alabama, to arrive in Georgia on Thursday.

READER REVIEW: 2008 Honda Shadow Spirit C2 750

Owner: Sherry Brody, Litchfield Park, Arizona

Sherry's height: 5 feet, 2 inches
10/12/2009: I purchased my Honda Shadow Spirit with only 400 miles on it. I love this bike! The bike is approximately 600 pounds but is weighted very well. Before I purchased this bike I was riding a Honda Shadow VLX 600 which was very top heavy. I bought this bike with the red wind shield, engine guard and saddle bags already on it. I don't like the look of saddle bags in general so I removed them and use a hip pouch and/or a back pack.

READER REVIEW: 2009 Roar WildKat

Owner: Deborah Speicher, Tampa, Florida

Deborah's Height: 5 feet 1 inch
9/16/2009: I missed the formal unveiling of Roar Motorcycle's WildKaT motorcycle, which took place during Daytona BikeWeek 2009. I had briefly stopped in to Roar the day it arrived but the bike was in the back of the shop getting some tweaking and I was heading home to Tampa.
